Why I'm Writing These Down
Hey yall this is my first one! I am testing out Tina integrations!!!
For most of my life, time outside has been the thing that quietly resets everything else. I never wrote any of it down, because it didn't feel like the kind of thing you write down — you just go.
Then it kept happening
The longer I went without keeping notes, the more I realized I was forgetting the details that actually made each trip its own thing. The exact color of the sky over Lake Michigan in October. The kid at the trailhead who told me his name was "Captain." The fact that I packed two left boots once and refused to admit it for six miles.
So this is where I'm going to keep them.
What lives here
- Trip reports — where I went, what I carried, what I'd change.
- Field notes — smaller stuff. A morning. A mountain I didn't summit. Gear that surprised me.
- Maps and routes, when I have them worth sharing.
Expect this to grow slowly. I'd rather write three good posts a year than thirty rushed ones.
If you've stumbled in here from somewhere else and any of this is useful — pass it along.
Onward.
